Aras\u00e9e en 1982 (voir les coupures de presse) elle est r\u00e9duite \u00e0 un tas de t\u00f4les o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on ne reconna\u00eet pas grand chose. Voil\u00e0 ce qu&rsquo;en disait Jean-Louis Maurette de l&rsquo;exp\u00e9dition Scyllias en mars 2006 : \u00ab\u00a0Nous avions eu l&rsquo;occasion de plonger en 2004 lors d&rsquo;une sortie de \u00ab\u00a0l&rsquo;Exp\u00e9dition Scyllias\u00a0\u00bb sur le <em>Ludwig Janssen<\/em> et ce qui pouvait \u00eatre les restes du <em>Xavier Dorsch<\/em>. En fait il y avait une vingtaine de m\u00e8tres de profondeur et pas grand chose \u00e0 voir, un petit tas de t\u00f4le o\u00f9 l&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ment le plus remarquable \u00e9tait une h\u00e9lice de taille modeste. De m\u00e9moire nous avions plong\u00e9 sur la position SHOM donn\u00e9e pour \u00eatre celle du <em>Xavier Dorsch<\/em>. Mais s&rsquo;agissait-il vraiment des vestiges de ce bateau ? Le 29 avril 1944, 2 <em>Typhoon<\/em> du squadron 263 rep\u00e8rent dans l&rsquo;apr\u00e8s-midi \u00e0 L\u00e9zardrieux un navire \u00e0 moteur et 4 navires de plus petite taille. Il n&rsquo;en faut pas plus pour d\u00e9clencher une op\u00e9ration anti-navires (Roadstead) 2H plus tard avec l&rsquo;aide de 9 <em>Typhoon<\/em> du 146 airfield (146 wing apr\u00e8s le 6 juin) le squadron n&rsquo;est pas identifi\u00e9 formellement, 20 bombes sont largu\u00e9es.
